AIRPORT SECURITY FAILURES

The end of reason!  Sigh…

Airport security is a failure!

Airport security is a sham!

Airport security is street theater designed to justify an encroachment on our liberty and to make us believe that were are safe.

This just in, TSA failed 95% of the time to detect weapons or explosives smuggled through airport checkpoints.

An internal investigation of the Transportation Security Administration revealed security failures at dozens of the nation’s busiest airports, where undercover investigators were able to smuggle mock explosives or banned weapons through checkpoints in 95 percent of trials, ABC News has learned.

The series of tests were conducted by Homeland Security Red Teams who pose as passengers, setting out to beat the system.

According to officials briefed on the results of a recent Homeland Security Inspector General’s report, TSA agents failed 67 out of 70 tests, with Red Team members repeatedly able to get potential weapons through checkpoints.

Among my friends and readers, my disdain for the TSA is well-known.  I maintain that there is not ONE thing that the TSA is doing now that is making American airline travelers safer than we were on September 10th 2001.  What the TSA has done is to make traveling more stressful, less fun (it that was possible), and far more intrusive.  Imagine how many times we have had some stranger put their hands on our bodies, or worse, held up the line to check the belongings of some geriatric, who is unable to walk.  We take off our shoes, our jackets, subject ourselves to radioactive xrays, only to discover that an attempt by a real terrorist has a 95% chance of success!  All Americans should be outraged. Remember this when they ask for more money, which they will most certainly do…even using this as a rationale for a bigger budget.

The good news is that you have only a 5% chance of getting a bottle of lotion aboard a flight, so there is that…
