Holiday Cranberries

2 cups apple juice
2 cups dried mixed berries
1 cup sugar
1 package fresh cranberries
1/2cup apple jack
1 cinnamon stick
3 cloves

Bring juice and apple jack to simmer in sauce pan.
Lower heat and add dried berries.
let stand 8-10 minutes.
Mix in sugar.
Add cranberries.
Cook over medium heat until cranberries burst, stirring occasionally.
Cool and refrigerate until cold.
Keeps 4 days covered and refrigerated.

Serving Idea:
As a side dish for holiday turkey ora s a dessert topping.

NOTES:
The cinnamon stick and cloves can be replaced by wrapping mulling spices in a double thickness of cheese cloth.
The mulling spices from Williams Sonoma work wonderfully well.
