JIGABOO MUSIC

A Cleveland news anchor used a racial epithet in describing Lady Gaga’s performance during the Oscars. Kristi Capel complained that it was difficult to hear Lady Gaga with “all that jigaboo music” playing in the background.  (Her co-host continues to smile like a mental patient.) As they go to the break, Capel mentions that there are some problems in the control booth.  No kidding!

Many years ago, while traveling to Denver, I sat next to one of the co hosts of the New York Local edition of PM Magazine. Her name escapes me now, but she was a nice woman and we talked for most of the flight.  She shared with me that as an anchor woman in Seattle (I believe) she referred to the Italian weatherman as “Our resident weather wop.”  She claimed to have had no idea that “wop” was an ugly racial term use to describe Italians.  Alas, Ignorance is no excuse. She was fired the next day.

I fully expect that Kristi Capel has delivered her last news cast.  Poor stupid woman.
