A 30 year old Michigan woman was convicted of a felony firearms charge for firing a shot through a McDonalds drive through window. Shoneka Monique became enraged after employees failed to put bacon on a cheeseburger she ordered. When the employee turned their back, Monique fired a singe shot through the window.

When a McDonald’s employee walked away from the drive-thru window, “one shot was fired from the suspect vehicle,” reported police, who added that the bullet entered the eatery at “head level” and “traveled through the window, across the dining room, and exited the restaurant through another window on the east side of the restaurant.”

Shortly after the shooting–which did not result in any injuries–cops located Torres and recovered the 9mm Glock handgun used during the bacon rage incident.

Stories like this fascinate me.  I am not drawn to them because of the sensationalism, but because I am always shocked at how violent people can become over fast food.  I love bacon as much as anyone, but I am not prepared to kill because it is not on my burger, or serve two years in jail over bacon.

I am convinced that there is something in fast food that triggers something in the brain, so that people who eat a lot of it begin to behave like addicts.  Or it could be that people with anger issues have a taste for fast food.
