Before his star turn as Denise Huxtable’s husband Martin, Joseph made a guest COSBY SHOW appearance in 1985. Bill Cosby remembered the young actor and brought him back to portray Martin from 1989 to the end of the series in 1992.

Joseph’s career has been varied, ranging from a 1989 TV production of A RAISIN IN THE SUN to guest spots on MARTIN, LIVING SINGLE, THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW, and POPULAR. He had a four-year recurring role as Justus Ward on GENERAL HOSPITAL. Recently he has appeared on THE PARKERS and JUDGING AMY.
