WHO GOVERNS BALTIMORE?

The end of reason!  Sigh…

I have now spent the better part of two days listening to Black Leftists discuss the rioting in Baltimore.  “Some context is needed,” they say, and then begin to passionately discuss the forces of oppression that dog Baltimore’s Black community.  According the these intellectuals, what we are witnessing is the result of years of abuse by, among other things, the free market, white consumerism, anti-homosexual, anti – immigration, and anti-feminist teaching, and political disenfranchisement.

Okay! Though my head is spinning at all of the big words they are using, rather than fuss, I will take them at their word.  The Black citizens of Baltimore are engaged in a struggle against political and social oppression.  Naturally, my next question is: “Who is doing the oppressing?” If together we can identify the culprit, perhaps, we can devise an effective strategy to alleviate or end the oppression.

Let’s take a look.

Following is a list of the political representation of the city of Baltimore:

WHO GOVERNS THE CITY OF BALTIMORE?

City Council

Council President – Bernard Young (D)

District 1. James Kraft (D)

  1. Brandon Scott (D)
  2. Robert Curran (D)
  3. Bill Henry (D)

  5. Sharon Middleton (D)
  6. Nick Mosby (D)
  7. Helen Holton (D)

  9. Edward Reisinger (D)
  10. Eric Costello (D)
  11. Carl Stokes (D)
  12. Warren Branch (D)
  13. Mary Pat Clarke (D)

The School Board is appointed by the City Council. Their party affiliations are not listed, but given that the job is a political spoil, it is a good bet that all of the school board is (D).

Frank Conway (D)

Antonio Hayes (D)

Governor:

Larry Hogan (R)

These are the folks who govern Baltimore.

So, it would seem that the good citizens of Baltimore, who according to the Left, are now embattled in a struggle against ongoing oppression are being oppressed by Democrats – Democrats that they continue to vote into office by overwhelming percentages.

Moreover, they are fighting against the power of a racist and abusive government, but continue to vote into office leaders whose stated goal is an administrative state, wherein, the government runs everything.

I wonder if rather than kicking in store windows, anyone has considered the alternative strategy of kicking Democrats out of office and giving another party a try.
