PALOMA
The Paloma is a refreshing tequila and grapefruit juice cocktail. It also turns out that the Paloma and not the margarita is the most popular cocktail in Mexico.
- 2 oz Tequila Blanco
- Juice of half a lime
- 3 oz Grapefruit juice
- 3 oz Seltzer water
- Kosher salt
- Lime wedge or Grapefruit wedge for garnish
To make the Paloma cocktail, pour a bit of Kosher salt into a shallow plate. Rub the rim of a Collins glass with a wedge of grapefruit and salt the rim of the glass.
Add Tequila, grapefruit juice and a pinch of salt into the glass, fill with ice, and top with seltzer. Stir gently and serve with a wedge of grapefruit.
You may also substitute a good grapefruit soda for the juice and seltzer. If you prefer a sweeter drink, you can add a bit of simple syrup to the mix prior to topping with the seltzer.
