BILL COSBY & BILL CLINTON: BROTHERS FROM A DIFFERENT MOTHER

One of the many things that makes me so angry about the saga of Bill Cosby, is the current outrage being expressed by feminists and the main stream media.  I do not suggest that outrage is inappropriate; to the contrary.  We should all be outraged, offended, and in search of justice when women are abused and used, raped and assaulted.  (In fact, we should all take offense when any fellow human being is so subjected.).  My anger stems from the fact that all this outrage and justice seeking was missing during the Bill Clinton presidency.

Feminists, who are now weaving the alleged crimes of Bill Cosby into the narrative of “rape culture,” were silent in the face of similar accusations levied against Bill Clinton. (Even now, the Left conveniently forgets that Bill Clinton was accused of rape by more than one woman.)  Rather than circle their wagons around the victims, feminists actively and often savagely protected their alleged abuser.  When confronted with the fact that Monica Lewinsky was a mere girl and that the porn movie hi-jinks that she and the president engaged in constituted a clear exploitation of the “power differential,” both feminists and the media balked.  Lewinsky was a liar, just like all of the other women, and a pawn of the Right wing.  ‘Just drag a chain through any trailer park…”  Remember that?

Also disturbing is the sneering vitriol that is now being directed at Camille Cosby, she is now guilty by association and her defense of her husband a reason for pity and/or scorn.  Oddly enough, the high backs were not turned on Hillary Clinton when word of her husbands infidelity and misdeeds surfaced.  It soon became clear that Hillary not only knew about her husbands abusive and immoral behavior, but she protected him and directed the character assassination of his accusers as well.  I can’t help but notice that Camille Cosby is suffering the social exile of her husband while Hillary Clinton is the darling of the Left and (thus far) their candidate for President of the United States.

It is difficult to take feminists and the media seriously about their concern for the victims of Bill Cosby when the sacrificed the victims of Bill Clinton on the alter of political expediency.  The pain of the victims is real and deserving of our collective outrage.  But as the saying goes, miss me with the horse hockey!

I have said my piece, but there is one who, I think, says it better, (or at least differently), and with a bit more analysis.  You can read Camille Paglia on Bill Cosby and Bill Clinton HERE.
